Adam Thomas Eaton is a professional baseball pitcher currently signed as pitcher for the Colorado Rockies of Major League Baseball (MLB). He was born in Seattle, Washington on November 23, 1977.
Eaton was drafted as the 11th overall pick by the Philadelphia Phillies during the 1996 MLB Draft. He was assigned to the Piedmont Boll Weevils in the A-level South Atlantic League. In 2000 he was traded to the San Diego Padres where he would make his Major League debut on May 30. Eaton will remain a Padre until his 2005 trade to the Texas Rangers.
On March 29, during a spring training game Eaton got injured and subsequently was placed on 60-day DL, missing the first half of the 2006 season. He returned to action on July 25, against the New York Yankees going 3 2/3 innings and giving up one hit and three earned runs.
On November 27, 2006, Eaton completed a $24 million, three-year deal and re-joined the Philadelphia Phillies. However, his performance during his time in Philadelphia was decidedly poor. He was optioned to the minor leagues in 2008 and was released by the Phillies in 2009.
On June 6, 2009, Eaton inked a Minor League contract with the Colorado Rockies.
