Andrew Christian LaRoche is a professional baseball player currently signed as a third baseman for the Pittsburgh Pirates of Major League Baseball (MLB). He was born in Fort Scott, Kansas on September 13, 1983.
LaRoche was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 39th round of the 2003 MLB Draft. He made his Major League debut for the Dodgers on May 6, 2007, against the Atlanta Braves. After shuffling back and forth between the Dodger's minor league system and the Major League roster, LaRoche was traded on July 31, 2008 to the Pittsburgh Pirates.
