Bershawn Jackson is an American professional sprinter. He was born in Dade County, Florida on May 8, 1983.
Jackson started competing in track in 2000. His first professional recognition came in 2001, winning first place with 50.86 at the 2001 Junior Olympics. In 2004, he participated in the Olympic trials in preparation for the 2004 Athens Olympics; however he failed the qualifications by finishing 4th. Nevertheless, in the 2005 World Championships he recorded his a personal best of 47.30 seconds in the 400-meter hurdles, winning his first Gold.
In the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, Jackson competed and won the Bronze Medal in the 400-meter hurdles event. He competed the next year in the 2009 World Championships, earning his second Bronze Medal for the 400-meter hurdles while also earning his second Gold for helping the United States team win the 4x400-meter relay event.
