Charles Gordon Howell III is an American professional golfer who currently competes on the PGA Tour. He was born on June 20, 1979 in Augusta, Georgia.

Howell started his professional golf career on July 2, 2000, playing at the Canon Greater Hartford Open and ended in 32nd place. At the John Deere Classic, Howell finished in 3rd place. In 13 more golf events, Howell made 7 cuts. His total earnings were $263,533; however it wasn't officially ranked in the money list since he wasn't a full PGA Tour member.

Howell celebrated his first PGA Tour victory at the Michelob Championship at Kingsmill on October 6, 2002. He made a -14 for a 270 score, two strokes over Scott Hoch and Brandt Jobe.

On February 18, 2007 Howell captured his second PGA Tour victory. He defeated top contender Phil Mickelson in a playoff, with -16 for a 268 score. His earnings for 2007 totaled to $2,832,091, ranked #18 on the money list.
