Chauncey Ray Billups is a professional basketball player. He is currently signed with the Denver Nuggets of the National Basketball Association (NBA), as part of the Allen Iverson trade that sent him, along with Antonio McDyess and Cheikh Samb to Denver and Iverson to Detroit.
Billups is recognized as one of the best point guards in the NBA. He is among the top defensive guards in the league, and is also among the top-ten leaders in three-pointers, field-goals, free-throw percentage and assists. His shooting skill earned him the nicknames "Smooth" and "Mr. Big Shot".
He was the Most Valuable Player in the 2004 NBA Finals. And in 2004, his #4 jersey was retired at the University of Colorado (where he played college basketball), becoming the fifth player to recieve that honor.
