 Mini Biography

Corey Antoine Maggette is a professional basketball player currently signed with the Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is known for his high-flying skills and his ability to create shots for himself.

Maggette was originally drafted by the Seattle SuperSonics out of Duke University as the 13th overall pick during the 1999 NBA Draft. He was immediately traded to the Orlando Magic where he spent one year as a rookie.

In 2000, he was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers. There he began to receive more playing time and, subsequently, his points-production improved to double digits. By 2001, he was a regular starter for the Clippers and began averaging 22.2 points per game. He also added to his marketability, with his propensity to create contact and get to the charity stripe. He is consistently among the league leaders in free throws attempted and made.

On June 30, 2008, Maggette opted out of the final year of his contract with the Clippers. He signed with the Golden State Warriors on July 10, 2008.
