Cullen Jones is a American professional swimmer. He is part of the gold-sweeping United States team that include Michael Phelps, Ryan Lochte, Matt Grevers, Nathan Adrian, Garrett Weber-Gale and Ricky Berens. Jones was born on February 29, 1984 in Bronx, New York.
Jones earned his first international award at the professional level in the 2006 Pan Pacific Championships. During the event, he won a Gold Medal as an individual swimmer in the 50-meter freestyle event. He also earned another Gold in the 4x100-meter freestyle, along with future teammates and record holders Michael Phelps, Jason Lezak and Neil Walker.
He won his next Gold Medal in the 2007 Melbourne World Championships. With Phelps, Lezak and Walker, Jones won in the 4×100m freestyle event in a world record time.
The United States team competed in the 2008 Bejing Olympics. He swam in the final round of the 4x100 m freestyle relay, in a world record time of 3:08.24 to win a Gold Medal.
Jones and the United States team competed again in the 2009 World Championships. The team won the Gold Medal in the 4x100-meter freestyle in 3:09.21 seconds time.
