Danny Granger Jr. is a professional basketball player currently signed with the Indiana Pacers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on April 20, 1983.
Granger declared eligible for the 2005 NBA Draft and was selected by the Pacers in the first round, as the 17th overall pick. He played in 78 games as a rookie, averaging 7.7 points and 4.9 rebounds per game, and made it onto the All-NBA Rookie Second Team.
When Peja Stojakovic was traded in 2006, Granger moved to the small forward position to accommodate Al Harrington at the power forward spot. Together with Jermaine O'Neal and Harrington, Granger formed the core of the Pacers team.
In the 2007-08 season, with O'Neal, Harrington, and Stephen Jackson gone from the team, Granger led the Pacers for the first time in scoring, with an average of 19 ppg. He started all 80 games he played in.
