Dawn Harper is an American professional sprinter. She was born in East St. Louis, Illinois on May 13, 1984.

Harper entered the Trials for the 2008 Beijing Olympics, barely qualifing in the the third place with 12.62. She competed in the 100-meter hurdles event as an underdog. However, she unexpectedly surged past heavy favorites Lolo Jones and Damu Cherry to win the Olympic Gold Medal.

Harper competed in the 2009 World Championships in Athletics held in Berlin, and finished 7th.
