Derrek Leon Lee is a professional baseball player currently signed as a first baseman for the Chicago Cubs of Major League Baseball (MLB). He was born on September 6, 1975 in Sacramentio, California.

Lee was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the first round, as the 14th overall selection of the 1993 MLB Draft. On April 28, 1997, he made his Major League debut for the Padres.

Lee was traded to the Florida Marlins in 1998. In 2003, he helped the Marlins win the 2003 World Series while also earning his first Gold Glove Award, particularly for his spectacular grab and unassisted putout on a hard hit by Hideki Matsui during Game 5 of the championship series.

In 2004, Lee was traded to the Chicago Cubs for South Korean Hee Seop Choi.

He bats and throws right handed. He played for the San Diego Padres in 1997. From 1998 - 2003, he played for the Florida Marlins. From 2004 up until now, he plays first base for the Chicago Cubs.
