Gregory Stuart Dobbs is a professional baseball player currently signed with the the Philadelphia Phillies of Major League Baseball (MLB). He was born in Los Angeles, California on July 2, 1978.
Dobbs was acquired by the Seattle Mariners as an amateur free agent on May 28, 2001 and made his Major League debut on September 8, 2004. In 2006 he was placed on waivers and was claimed off them by then Philadelphia Phillies General Manager Pat Gillick, who had previously drafted Dobbs while still a GM of Seattle.
Since joining the Philadelphia Phillies, Dobbs continues to develop as a Major League athlete. He was mainly utilized as a pinch hitter in the beginning of the 2007 season, but he got more playing time, by delivering clutch hits while pinch hitting.
