Jay Christopher Cutler is a professional football quarterback currently signed with the Chicago Bears of the National Football League (NFL). He was born on April 29, 1983 in Santa Claus, Indiana.
Cutler entered the 2006 NFL Draft tabbed as one of the hottest quarterback prospects available in the draft. He was compared to Brett Favre for his throwing arm, playing style and gunslinger attitude. He was unexpectedly selected by the Denver Broncos as an 11th overall pick (acquired pick from the St. Louis Rams) in the 1st round. The agreed upon contract was a 6-year deal worth $48 million, including $11 million in bonuses.
On April 2, 2009, Cutler was traded by the Denver Broncos, along with a 2009 NFL Draft choice, to the Chicago Bears. In exchange, the Broncos recieved Kyle Orton along with first-round NFL Draft Choices for 2009 and 2010, plus a 2009 3rd-round draft pick, from the Bears.
