Thomas "Jay" Feely is a professional football placekicker currently signed with the New York Jets of the National Football League (NFL). He was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on May 23, 1976.
Feely went undrafted in the 1999 NFL Draft, and he signed with the Florida Bobcats of the Arena Football League (AFL). In 2000, he played for the Tampa Bay Storm in the AFL.
Feely again tried his luck in the NFL in 2001. He worked out for the Washington Redskins but failed to secure a contract. On April 12, 2001, he finally landed a contract with the Atlanta Falcons, worth $209,000 for one year. He had a productive season as a rookie, converting 29 of the 37 field goal attempts and all 28 extra point attempts. He accumulated 115 points which tied for second with David Akers in the NFC. His above par performance culminated into his consensus 2001 all-rookie selection.
Since then, Feely has played for the New York Giants, Miami Dolphins, and presently for the New York Jets. He was signed by the Kansas City Chiefs on August 25, 2008 but was released just a day later, before heading to New York.
