Kelvim Jose Escobar Bolivar is a professional baseball player currently signed as a starting pitcher for the New York Mets of Major League Baseball (MLB). He was born in La Guaira, Venezuela on April 11, 1976.

After making his Major League debut on June 29, 1997, Escobar spent seven seasons with the Toronto Blue Jays, alternating between starting and contributing out of the bullpen. He was established as a starter in 2003 and went 8-3 in the 14 starts after the All-Star break. He finished the season with a 12-8 record with 159 strikeouts and a 3.92 ERA in 26 outings. After the season he became a free agent and signed with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

Among Escobar's repertoire of throws include a four-seam fastball, a two-seamer, and a deceptive changeup, as well as a split-finger, a curve, and a slider.

Escobar throws an 93-95 MPH four-seam fastball, an 90-92 MPH two-seamer, and a deceptive 83-85 MPH changeup. He has good command of a wide variety of other pitches, including an 79-83 MPH curve, and the occasional 86-88 slider or 85-87 MPH splitter.
