 Mini Biography

Martin Kaymer is a German professional golfer who competes on the PGA European Tour. He was born on December 28, 1984 in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Kaymer began his professional career in 2005, after snagging two amateur wins, the 2003 Austrian Amateur Open and the 2004 German Amateur Closed. He then moved up to the Challenge Tour and won the Vodafone Challenge and the Open des Volcans in 2006. His early success on the Challenge Tour earned for him European Tour card for 2007.

In 2007, Kaymer finished the season as the highest ranked rookie on the Order of Merit and also won the Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year Award, the first German to do so. He also entered the top 100 of the Official World Golf Rankings for the first time. In 2008, he captured two European Tour wins and another two in 2009.

In 2009, after his Barclays Scottish Open victory, he was ranked 11th in the Official World Golf Rankings, his highest ranking ever.
