Matt Kelly Barnes is a professional basketball player currently signed with the Orlando Magic of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was born in Santa Clara, California on March 9, 1980.
Barnes was drafted by the Memphis Grizzlies during the 2002 NBA Draft. That summer, he and Nick Anderson were traded for Wesley Person to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Barnes was waived by Cleveland on October that season.
Barnes has since played for a number of teams: the Los Angeles Clippers, the Sacramento Kings, the New York Knicks, the Philadelphia 76ers, the Golden State Warriors, and the Phoenix Suns. He signed a one year contract with the Phoenix Suns on July 22, 2008.
