Monique Currie is a female professional basketball player currently signed with the Washington Mystics of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). She was born in Washington, D.C. on February 25, 1983.
Currie played college basketball at Duke University where she was named to the All-American team. Currie compiled over 1,500 points throughout her college career. She declared herself eligible for the 2006 WNBA Draft and was selected as the 3rd overall pick by the now defunct Charlotte Sting.
When the Sting folded in 2006, Currie was selected by the Chicago Sky as the 1st overall pick in the 2007 WNBA Dispersal Draft. She was traded later in the season to the Washington Mystics for Chasity Melvin.
