Oscar de la Hoya, popularly called as "The Golden Boy", is a Mexican American world class boxer and the founder of Golden Boy Promotions. He won 10 world titles in 6 different weight classes and defeated 17 boxing champions, including the legendary Julio Cesar Chavez as an underdog in 1996.

De la Hoya has generated more money than any other boxer in the sports history. For the Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight, De la Hoya had 11,665,000 PPV purchases that generated $594.3 million, becoming the wealthiest fighter of all-time.

He was defeated by Manny Pacquiao in a highly promoted fight billed as "The Dream Match" on Saturday, December 6, 2008 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. The match was presented by Golden Boy Promotions and Top Rank, Inc.
