Paul William Azinger is a professional golfer who, in just seven seasons (1987-1993) won 11 PGA Tour events, a winning streak that culminated with a Major win, at the 1993 PGA Championship held at the Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio.
Azinger was born on January 6, 1960 in Holyoke, Massachusetts. He moved to Florida where he attended and graduated from Sarasota High School and Brevard Community College. He attended Florida State University and turned professional in 1981.
Azinger held the distinction of having his name on the top-10 Official World Golf Rankings for almost 300 weeks from 1988 to 1994. He is also regarded as a competitive poker player. He participated in the 2006 World Series of Poker and the 2008 World Series of Poker.
