Ron Dayne is a professional football player who is currently a free agent. His most recent team was the Houston Texans of the National Football League (NFL). He was born in Berlin Township, New Jersey on March 14, 1978.
Dayne is best remembered for his prolific NCAA career and is regarded as one of the greatest running backs in NCAA football history. He held several NCAA records, including the still unbeaten 7,125 career rushing yards. He won the 1999 Heisman Trophy and was referred throughout college as "The Great Dane".
