Seimone Augustus is a professional basketball player currently signed with the Minnesota Lynx of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). She also plays for the Galatasaray Women's Basketball Team, a major sports team in Turkey. Additionally, she is a member of the United States Women's Basketball Team who competed and won a Gold Medal at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.
She was born April 30, 1984 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Augustus was the #1 overall pick of the Minnesota Lynx during the 2006 WNBA Draft. In her first year, she was selected as a reserve for the All Star Game, where she made an impact by scoring 16 points and winning the Skills Competition.
In her second season, Augustus progressed to 22.6 ppg, while shooting 51% from the field.
