 Mini Biography

Thomas Oliver Kite, Jr. is an American professional golfer who competes on the Champions Tour. He was most noted for winning the 1992 U.S. Open at Pebble Beach, California, over Jeff Sluman and Colin Montgomerie. It was Kite's first and only major championship win. Prior to the event, Kite had been known as the "best golfer to never win a Major". He had been the PGA Tour's Money Leader in 1981 and 1989.

Kite recently attempted a final shot at the 2004 U.S Open; however, he finished tied for 57th. Later that year, he was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame.

Kite now mostly competes on the Champions Tour, where he already has nine wins, including the 2000 Countrywide Tradition at the SBC Senior Open.
