Thomas Edward Lehman, otherwise known as Tom Lehman, is an American professional golfer born on March 7, 1959. His official hometown is Alexandria, Minnesota but he was actually born in Austin, Minnesota. He got a degree in Business/Accounting at the University of Minnesota and later turned professional in 1982.
Originally, he played on the PGA Tour but wasn't successful which was why for 6 seasons, he played on the Ben Hogan Tour. In 1991, he finished first on the Ben Hogan Tour's money list, and then rejoined the PGA. In 1996, he was named PGA Tour Player of the Year.
His victory in the 1996 Open Championship was the highlight of his career. In addition to that, Lehman held the 54-hole lead at the U.S. Open three years in a row but unfortunately never won. (1995 - 1997)
