Vladimir Alvino Guerrero is a Dominican professional baseball player currently signed with the Texas Rangers of Major League Baseball (MLB). He was born in Don Gregorio, Nizao, Dominican Republic on February 9, 1976.
Guerrero started his professional baseball career by signing with the Montreal Expos in 1993. After spending several years in the minors, he made his Major League debut for the Expos on September 19, 1996.
Guerrero put up solid batting numbers for a rookie, although he was equally scorned for being unusually aggressive at the plate. His superior hand-eye coordination and prodigious strength allowed him to be; even then he still put up high batting averages year after year. By 1998, Guerrero's free-swinging ways began to earn admiration when he started hitting pitches with authority.
In 2004, Guerrero signed as a free agent with the Anaheim Angels.
On January 9, 2010, Guerrero signed a one year contract with a 2011 option with the Texas Rangers.
